Cosmetic Surgery, June 1990

Having endured over a year of being "sirred" back in 1985-86 (both by honest mistake and by haters), and having put up with it all over again from November of 1988 until spring of 1990, I had to take action. I hated raiding what I'd saved for my sex reassignment surgery (SRS), but I needed a "social" sex change to dispel all the negative feedback. And with the professional's salary I made, I could well afford it. Therefore I started with the two most visible aspects of my gender: my face and my bosom.

Augmentation Mammoplasty (Breast Implants)
After 18 months on HRT with only munchkin tits to show for it and sick to death of being misgendered ("he," "sir," etc.) by mistake, I figured eyecatching knockers would prevent misperception and end the male pronouns from all except the haters. The surgeon most recommended at the main tranwoman's bar was Dr. Lawrence Foster of South Lake Tahoe, CA. In June of 1990 I hopped on the Greyhound with my best friend Nola and a $4000 cashier's check. Dr. Foster put the silicone bags under the chest wall muscle using an axiliary (armpit) incision. After nearly 23 years I've had no problems and they're soft and bouncy as ever.

Malar Augmentation (Cheek Implants)
I also wanted a little more cheekbone definition. After seeing some scary cheek augmentation results in other Tenderloin transwomen, I decided against the common surgery-grade silicone injections and opted for solid silicone implants. Doctor Foster placed these implants atop my cheekbones through gumline incisions inside my mouth. Wanting only a moderate enhancement, not to prominent yet not too subtle, I brought along a photo of Charlie's Angels Jaclyn Smith as a model for the cheekbones I wanted. For only $2000 (atop the cost of my breast implants), much of the masculinization from post-puberty testosterone was greatly softened.
